Don't worry mate I don't have any desire to be a mod here.

In defense of my own actions, I don't ban people from /r/conspiracy for having a different opinion than I do. That would be insane because the mod staff there all have different opinions. And you can ask them all what my banning habits look like.

Trolling from conspiratard

Attacking other users

Racial slurs

Posting shit that mocks conspiracy theorist (lizard people and oops I forgot to tell you guys that I'm Jesus God your lord)

digitalpiss

Would subscribing to certain mods be feasible? Something like each mod on the list having a tickbox by their name and only filter the ones each user has ticked.

AssuredlyAThrowAway

:( I like to think we try really hard to provide a forum free from attacks and the like.

left_one

That's funny, because I've been regularly accosted as a 'shil'l by posters including moderators

You'd think the conspiracy forum's goal would be to provide a forum for free discussion.

You don't think it's funny that you guys supply neither?

shill

No, you guys were horrible. You created a echo chamber full of censorship and hatred where any dissenter was banned on the spot, often without even being told why they were banned and then not responding to any messages. You guys were/are the worst mod team on reddit.

salvia_d

You guys were/are the worst mod team on reddit.

Totally disagree. The guys on /r/politics , /r/technology , /r/worldnews , and many others were pretty bad. I actually found the mods on /r/conspiracy to be okay.

shill

Probably because they shared your views and silenced any opposition which created that nice echo chamber you enjoyed.

left_one

You are 100% spot-on.

conspiracy was a forum that could not swallow it's own medicine. It could not practice what it preached.

shill

Seriously, /r/conspiracy had the worst mod team on reddit. Absolutely deplorable. They censored conversation. Derailed conversation. Pushed their own twisted agendas and banned anybody who dared speak out against it.

If you want this forum to thrive, you can not let a single one of them in power here. They'll only continue on with their agenda.

alkonost

I am always disagreeing with the idea of complete democracy. It is better to set some rules to eliminate 'bad' moderators.

spasticbadger

Also we should be able to vote for mods, similarly to remove them.

fenixrisin

I've mentioned this on another thread asking for input about moderation.

I didn't like the power the moderators had over at Reddit and I don't want that to carry over to this subverse.

I've also stated an idea that would only remove users or posts after a credible complaint from the community; further limiting the power of moderators.

left_one

Maybe don't implement more moderators? or find someone not jockeying for the position with a tainted history?

casualwhoaversereade

THIS! Moderators should be elected. And recalls should be possible.

Atko

I had in mind to place election mechanism for recalling and voting in moderators. Community should not have to suffer because 1 individual went rogue.

Something like being able to start election threads in a special subverse where tags could be used like [recall] [conspiracy] [moderatorname] or [elect] [conspiracy] [usernamehere]. I'm listening :)

PrivateJoker

Also, to be able to oust absentee subverse mod squatters. The top mods on a bunch of subreddits have almost no interaction with them, r/conspiracy being a prime example

Shagguire

Such as illuminatedwax? I agree. The sub should belong to the subscribers, more than the user that created it... No one mod should be 'all powerful' with the ability to wipe out the entire mod list on a whim.

pirmx

I like this idea. Is there a subverse around for discussing features like this? Maybe we should make that a default sub during the early days so that everyone can have input.

There needs to be some way to make sure all the users of a subverse see the recall, so I'm not sure putting them in another subverse is a good idea. Also need to figure out a timeline, as well as what makes a recall successful.

Atko

Thanks! I will make a temporary default sub where people can voice their ideas for features that whoaverse should have.
