First off, the 2 parachute video seems to approximate what the official narrative says. The video of the red chute is either dated, out of context, or possibly one of the crew from the helicopter that was (reportedly) shot down by rebel mortar-fire.

Wouldn't surprise me if equipment coloration depends on the aircraft. I cant imagine any military changing the color of it's emergency equipment until there was a reason to replace the tech with newer gear. Another thought that occurs to me: perhaps emergency chutes are all white (no solder operating a bomber is going to be equipped for much beyond basic self defense, and would probably want a big-ass white flag to wave around).

If these were infantry parachutes/troops, I might expect the color to be more uniform.
