Because Zionist psychopaths run the US government.

Wow, it's amazing that the true strategies at play are never referred to at all in the mainstream media. Having this information suddenly made me understand why each actor is behaving as they are. Every time it comes done to the wealth created by access to natural resources.

klongtoey

war on syria was planned like five years ago, or longer.

cynoclast

The simplest way to explain the situation without being at all wrong is that it's Russian imperialism vs. American imperialism.

1rash

I believe it has to do more with geopolitics; although it's much much more complicated than that. Syria is a major ally to Iran and Russia in the region. By ousting him, you are hitting more than one bird with one stone.

Also, don't forget Isreal and Saudi Arabia.

By tearing Syria apart, you can change the map of middle east which should look like this according to former Secretary Condoleezza Rice.

Great post!

Spear1000

Lets be real, israel is right next to Syria. That probably has something to do with things.

Obesity

Probably? It's a stated goal in the PNAC papers. It's why Saddam was taken out and idiots still think it was for "oil"

Pwning4Ever

Same reason why the US was got rid of other Middle Eastern "dictators". For oil.

entropyosaurus

So why don't they just go through Iraq? They've already toppled that "problem regime."

WhoFramedReaderRabit

Yea I've been wondering the same, just go through Iraq, perhaps it's too mountainous taking that route, or they're worried the Kurds might take control?

I'm not sure where Turkey wants it inserted into their country. There may be an argument for using just the top part of Syria along the boarder but going straight through isn't a necessity. Distance would make Syria the ideal though. Maybe cost is really easily effected by topography and maybe even foot hills we can't see on this map could be a factor. I'm no pipe engineer.

Can we just pay Assad for the rights? Nope, because that would be admitting other countries besides our allies have sovereignty.

The discovery in 2009 of a new gas field near Israel, Lebanon, Cyprus, and Syria opened new possibilities to bypass the Saudi Barrier and to secure a new source of income. Pipelines are in place already in Turkey to receive the gas

0xD00D

Europe and NATO countries want an "alternative to Russian natural gas". And they can get that alternative the moment Syria's government stops blocking their pipeline going from Qatar into Turkey. The catch is that Al-Assad must be dethroned.

luckyguy

Why not pay Assad for oil and get it from him? If he has less than is demanded he can get if from Qatar. That's a free market and when free markets actually run they cost about the same as if you had the pipeline directly. Even if it doesn't there is added value in keeping the land the oil travels through peaceful and free from oil thieving ISIS so if Assad gets a cut that's not really thieving. Or Qatar could pay for the land necessary to make the pipeline at a price that's agreeable to Assad.

All war comes from governments that are too entitled to deal with the ethics of a free market. They are like little children. That's our oil, we want it now, we don't have time to waste negotiating fairly with people, we will displace a few million people and have cities entirely abandoned before we admit that other people have a stake.

Of course why do people not deal fairly with each other (specifically the west and east). Because of nuclear parity makes it so we are strategically opposed to one another no matter people's actual disposition and strategic influence and free market run counter to one another. The nukes are the hidden fuel behind all antagonism. That and Israel injecting its opinions into countries half way across the world that would otherwise not give a shit about them.

It's so stupid the shit we kill eachother over..

middle_path

A commodity that is limited and when we run out will probably cause a financial collapse and apocalypse? Nah, let's kill more peole to keep this thing going.
