I agree, it really gives a different perspective on the seemingly constant US military interventions worldwide. What struck me in particular was the nations that do not use the petrodollar (Syria, Iran, Russia, North Korea and Venezuela) are constantly demonised in the western media. This piece is quite old and if it were updated I'm sure it would make mention of Russia's decision in January to abandon the petrodollar and the subsequent tensions as well as Iraq offering to sell to India in rupees and ISIS suddenly showing up on their doorstep. The cost of western military aid to Iraq will no doubt come at the cost of ensuring that they uphold the petrodollar.

Oh yes, most definitely about Russia and the rest. I thought the same thing. The BRIC alliance is really shaking things up and I think we are all in for some turbulent economic times ahead.

Woops, accidentally deleted my post above. Gotta find a way to undelete ...

Haha I think you might be outta luck there, I was reading a thread Where @Atko said that it is impossible to restore user deleted comments as they are automatically overwritten with dummy data. I wasn't familiar with BRIC and just read a bit about them, those are strong nations to be banding together. I think that there will be a remarkable fall from grace for a few countries in my lifetime, I just hope it won't directly effect me too badly.
