Are there any other examples of crashed jet-liners appearing to have been completely blown to bits? Plane crashes always seem to leave behind large chunks, is the nature of this crash somehow different? If it happened during any other year I might not think twice, but there is just so much going on with air travel recently...

Shouldn't there at least be a big piece of the tail or wings laying around somewhere?

The crash circumstances are unusual - the comps in terms of wreckage would be flights that hit a mountain, for example, due to visibility issues.
