All of reddit has been infiltrated. Why would /r/conspiracy be any different?

good point

It would be watched as much or more you would think. Just a big ole honeypot. Same as anywhere on the web that records your IP nowdays, all into a massive databse for future lookups. Crazy shit.

radium_coyote

I'm sure somewhere I'm sitting in a database. Not that I have any access to any hidden information, I just, like all intelligent people, try to collate it.

It I recall correctly, /r/conspiracy instituted a rule about accounts having to be at least x number of days old in order to post there, ostensibly in order to prevent brigades of low effort trolls and disinformation.

Automoderator probably was responsible for the removals if this is still the case.

Now this neither confirms nor refutes the idea that the moderation of that subreddit has been compromised, but it is one possible explanation for what has happened here.

datjedi

that would make sense, but couldn't that potentially hinder things like this coming to surface? That rule works against free thought and community aggregation. thanks for the info!

Indeed, that is one apparent side effect of the policy. I believe at the time the subreddit was under heavy attacks around the time of the aurora stuff or maybe it was boston bombimgs... or fukushima, i don't recall which. But it was drama-central, and new accounts were being made left and right trolling, provocateuring, disinforming, etc. So it seemed at the time a sensible solution the benefits of which outweighed the costs.

I may even be mistaken about it being a continuing policy. I don't see anything in the sidebar there about it right now, so if it is still a de facto policy then it is not advertised anymore. If it is not still a policy, then yes something else is going on with your posts.
