A thing I find interesting about the post on reddit is how many mentioned the laws of thermodynamics as an argument against "free" energy or that they simply rejected it as impossible.

But here on Voat this post haven't been flooded by such comments...(yet)

If a "free energy" device does exist and whoever discovered it isn't quiet about it, then it seems likely that they can be kept quiet one way or another. I think a field like this has a lot of room for snake oil, and i think there's a metric ton of that going around - people taking advantage of the hopes and dreams and naivety of others, whether it's selling books or plans or just having a laugh or gaining fame, or trying to spread bullshit just to drown out whatever legitimate working devices might exist or might be made.

I am not a physicist, not a scientist. I cannot say whether a device can be made that draws forth energy from unseen and unmeasured domains. I will say that there are resources available to us which are largely untapped, like solar energy, nuclear fusion, geothermal, etc. and there are things we don't fully understand yet like magnetism and gravity which may yet yield new discoveries that could potentially give us cheap energy. I believe that we do not yet understand how the universe actually works, why electrons and photons and quarks and such come to be, what compels them to take on the shape and behavior they do, nor the mechanisms underlying quantum-level phenomena. With such vast uncharted territory, I see no reason to assume discoveries with applications in inexpensive or "free" energy are never to appear.

That's a good point.

But the scientific consensus towards cold fusion and "free" energy might also be one of the reasons why scientists are staying silent. They don't want their career to be destroyed by the scientific establishment or some agency that has been tasked to suppress this form of technology.

Yes, that is a valid point as well. There is a very strong stigma against the idea. The scientific establishment vehemently opposes and ostracizes anyone interested in pursuing research outside of the official dogmas. It is a shame. Rupert Sheldrake gave a brief talk about this at a TEDx event that may be of interest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKHUaNAxsTg

I know his TEDx talk.

They've already proven thermodynamics break down on the quantum level, thus not everything is government by Newtonian physics.

People will eventually learn the truth, Tesla discovered it and Einstein confirmed it with his nobel prize winning work on 'quantums'. The energy isn't 'free' it's being drawn from the quantumn foam of subspace. Free energy may be a misnomer but the technology is very real, and very suppressed.
