At this point, I hope it is obvious that the government has been trying to make it difficult to travel. Steadily and steadily making it, not just a hassle, but invasive and downright scary. How many people are afraid of being on planes again, despite the very very low rate of accidents? It's not just a lapse in logic, it's conditioning.

Why don't they want us traveling? Who knows. It can't possibly just be for the surveillance/police state though.

Private contractors and small business owner's get boned on insurance. You're usually paying 1-2 before you insure a car. When your state is: happy bday, here's your bill! it can be tough.
