Education is when you give someone the right access, proper minimal background to start, and guidance to learn on their own. Only intervening when requested to by the student and only to get them back on track to doing it themselves.

Mind control is essentially the same thing. Except the access you give is restricted, the background is falsified, the guidance you give is constant and with your own purpose. And you either intervene all the time or sparsely. But, either way, the intervention is directed to bring you to an expected outcome. It's not there to keep you focused or to stop procrastination, its there as a guide to a certain viewpoint, that you discover "on your own".

Proper education is an institution where knowledge is attained without bias and without bounds. For the sake of knowledge itself.

Mind control is an institution where knowledge is biased, learning is restricted, and boundaries of what is and isn't okay to study are formed. So others can push their view.

You must have majority control over a developing mind to own it.

When a society is in this state, that society is forfeit. False. Ash.

Public schools are run by the government and will therefore follow government interests. This really shouldn't surprise anyone.

I plan on private schooling my kids, and making sure that they aren't being brainwashed. Or maybe I'll just homeschool.

I think history can be education too, provided that what you are reading is original sources and not just the opinion of some modern academics in textbook format, and that you are left to form your own opinions about it.

Real education encourages you to think on your own and welcomes deviation.
