FTFA: Most use in such young children is “off-label,” posing safety concerns.

That's curious in its own right. It's not so easy to blame the drug companies.

I think adults are too blame. The average adult gets so little physical activity and is so focused on a screen or sedentary task that children perplex them. Children are more wild animal than social animal. They're monkeys -- and monkeys are little shits. If the adults took an interest in getting them sufficient physical motion -- gathering, patrolling perimeters, light cleaning -- they'd find that the little shits make some sense. But collectively, we seem to think that we're supposed to turn little monkeys into cubicle beefs because the past generation was rewarded for cubicle beefing.

Also, I'd say that the whole fucking field of psychiatry is to blame. The DSM began life as a military manual. The "problem" was always "refused to follow orders". The "answer" was "diagnosis". Refused to appear in uniform? Maybe you were a transvestite. Maybe you had Oppositional Disorder. "Don't like green" or "Thinks the navy uniform is faggy" were not valid diagnoses. The field of psychiatry has never really stepped away from this model. Even worse, the current generation of cubicle beefs seems to be intent on fulfilling these expectations, mostly because even though we're little shit monkeys, we're affable little shit monkeys.

Shitty parenting.

My kids are crazy and rambunctious. They don't listen when they should, they run around, they learn, they play. Its how kids are.

Yeah, I sometimes wish they were a bit less energetic and more focused so I can attempt to teach them easier/quicker, but thats not how kids are.

Yes - I hold that ADHD and the likes are somewhat 'made up disorders' that are caused by other chemicals, like super sugars and terrible foods, than a normally occurring disorder that requires pharmaceutical grade methamphetamine to "cure."

The answer is obvious: placation of the masses. An obidient population best serves the ruling class.

ElspethTirel

Not just placation, but...well, to fuck people up. There is zero chance taking any form of drug is not going to have a huge effect on the body's development. And even beyond the moral implications of drugging children and even freaking babies, that there's almost zero research done on the long term effects because- duh, don't fucking do it!

Toddlers on Xanax? The fuck is going on?
