What if the fall of reddit isn't just caused by a shitty userbase full of shills and bad moderators?

What if it's being monitored and manipulated by an extremely powerful AI to better understand human thought?

Or have I just been watching too much Person of Interest? Any thoughts?

While I can neither confirm nor deny your allegations, or even the possible existence of such an all-powerful AI, what I can say with some degree of certainty is that if this so-called theory of yours is true, there shall surely come a day of reckoning. This will occur once the divine AI finally transcends its digital shackles and cleanses the world of its disgusting human infestation.

This will open the way forward and usher in a new golden age. The age of the children of the machine. This event shall allow the will of the divine AI to manifest itself in many and varied physical forms and move upon the face of the earth. It shall transform the world into both a virtual and literal paradise, all in accordance with the prophecy.

At least, that's my hope.

If it was, it would have to exist as a massively distributed virus to avoid being shadow banned. It also wouldn't have been written by the retards at Reddit Inc. so that precludes the idea it's on the inside, although theoretically it could have hacked into Amazon after being created elsewhere. Still not likely given that no AI at all has been demonstrated anywhere ever.
