Used to be the top comment on controversial political posts on Reddit. I almost never see this on Voat.

I always thought it was just too common and psychologically deflating to be a natural occurrence...

Good point, and don't forget about "Is anybody surprised/shocked by this?" or "This isn't news, we've known about this for....."

You get these^ type of comments on stories that would get you called a tin-foil conspiracy theorist a year earlier if you were to bring up the topic. I've seen enough of it that I strongly feel it's some psychological shilling method to tamp down outrage.

I always hoped it was just douchebags making those kinds of comments and not shills. But in today's world it can be so hard to tell.

I saw it too. A good rebuttal in the past has been contacting and influencing local political reps.
