Open source is the worst fucking possible way to describe it. "Open Source" means community developed for no monetary gains. It implies transparency and helps reduce the possibility of back doors installed by third parties.

This is attempting to discredit the open source software community when it was not at all involved in this beach. Open source software is a threat to a totalitarian government because groups of people are able to read and compile complex source code themselves to ensure that no government backdoors exist (a backdoor bypassing user login protection for example).

Trying to associate "Open Source" with the negligence that caused this breach is simply a power grab.
