Ugh... it's true around the world, though. I've never had an American job (I'm American), but I've had both good and bad "foreign" jobs. Employers love dangling the possibility of losing your visa if you don't fuck your supervisor, write papers for the senior professors, or other shit. Basically, "immigration" always means two parties are being fucked over: the indigenous workers and the imported serfs. But mention for one second that you oppose "immigration" and you're "racist", especially in a university environment.

Slightly related is that it does not make sense to crate a highly trained individual and then force them out of the country. That said, it should be shown that there is a glut of jobs that can not be fulfilled with citizens before we import workers, and i don't think that is the case currently.

Fuck that. I took advanced math and physics classes in college. The hardest were the ones taught by foreigners, not because of the subjects, but because they could barely speak English. You should be hiring citizens before foreigners in 100% of cases. H1B's should be eliminated because the system is now completely abused. Just look at how Disney screwed their entire IT department and how Google gets the most in the country. These are non-citizens stealing high skill, high pay jobs by getting paid shit.
