Reverse Osmosis 3 stage filtration if you can afford it. Cheaper than bottled over a couple of years. Good Chinese models are about $400.

Drinking 'public' water is dangerous. The management is inept. The simple addition of fluoride to our system proves it. "Oh it prevents cavities".

Really? In what dosage? May I see the control group study?

Yeah.

The author can't convert from mg/L to ppm?? Come on, he didn't even try! A 12 yr old with Google could figure that out

VibinHigher

I'm the author, thanks! As I said, I'm much more of a language guy, but I did come up with an answer, forgive me for not wanting to publish to the world until I was positive. Are you the witch doctor I'm looking for?

SocratesOP

Well regardless I still found your article interesting. Do you have opinions on chlorides and increasing chloramine usage in water as well?

VibinHigher

I appreciate that! Maybe you can help me out with this calculation, then... I've checked and re-checked with formulas given on the internet, but if the number that I get is true, then that would put Fiji significantly higher in ppm than any of the others, and that doesn't necessarily seem right to me. I'm an admitted dumbass in regards to math, though, haha.

Can't speak to chlorides or increasing chloramine usage, I'll have to do some research!

SocratesOP

I have an engineering background, the reason I was so abraisive (regrettably) in my first post is because a mg/L when talking about water will work out to be equivalent to mg/1000g of water because a liter of water has approx 1kg of mass. Since our units will now be mg/1000000mg, or a parts/million measurement. For practical purposes they are essentially the same measurements.

VibinHigher

It's all good, man, I actually appreciate criticism, and try to take what I can from it. The explanation-less downvotes are the real bummer, haha.

So I think I follow here, would I be wrong in saying that that would put Fiji at the head of the pack then, in terms of fluoride content? Or am I still way off? Hahaha. The number I get just seems so ridiculous.

SocratesOP

If those numbers are authentic then I would say you're correct that fiji has one of the highest fluoride contents. Im not sure exactly why that works out, but I think fiji advertises putting some additives in their water - this could likely be the result. However I'd be willing to bet that some of those companies that depend on local water sources could be much worse depending on their situation
