Do you want Equilibrium? Because that's how you get Equilibrium.

tl;dr

XylophoniX

I have been trying it for most of my life and I now there are very few people who will even have a conversation with me. They can't or don't have any way to prove me wrong, and aren't even willing to share what they want to say. For example, I have been asked several times if I'm a terrorist in the course of speaking out against the extension of the Hammond prison sentence for setting a back fire to save their homes and lives. I did not participate in terrorism, but I think the information scared people, and since it came from me, I was the responsible party. I have tried to do my part to help people for a long time, and I gave up a social life in the process. It is worth it, in my opinion, but I am shocked at how alone I have become.

Drenki

People have always been sheep, at least since the first religions were formed. Not everyone wants to think about the larger world, they just want to go about their daily lives.

RedditIsPropaganda23

The SJW movement was a propaganda piece to promote censorship against the 1st amendment.

crusade

If this wasn't the case everywhere else too, there'd be no migrant crisis and all of Europe would be homogeneous.

Atarian

Either there's been a glitch in the Matrix, or you or someone else has posted this before.

magnora

I see what you did there

pitenius

It looked familiar. It was familiar . What's going on?

magnora

I've posted it a couple places, and it got some traction, what can I say

pitenius

Just checkin' fer bots, boss.

magnora

Haha fair enough.

Antiseed117

Are you gonna give credit to the original creator of this content OP? Because as productive as this is, it isn't your work. I've seen this before, almost verbatim.

Lag-wagon

And that is why they are voating for trump. It's all emotions. If you all had logic it would be voating Rand Paul.

Misanthropic_Bong

Fuck 'em all.

123_456

A long rant, but, yes, that's true. People think with their emotions first. That's why scumbags always get into power. Lying is so easy, and so is believing something nice. I remember, in my country, one of the politicans was being honest with everyone, and saying he would have to make cutbacks. His rival said the opposite, told us all the good times were still here. Guess who got elected? Yeah, his rival won, and then she made those cutbacks anyway. The public punished the person trying to be honest, that was preparing us for hard decisions that had to be made.

Fucking idiotic public. They never learn.

Misanthropic_Bong

I feel very alone now that I've "woken up" and posts like this bring me some comfort. I wish the people of the US weren't so comfortable with tolerating or ignoring the repugnant shit that goes on.

RedditIsPropaganda23

You're not alone bruh.

Hlatbern

It's a melancholy kind of comfort, but a comfort nonetheless.

EyeRape

Right there with ya buddy. Posts like this relax me, I think to myself "at least I'm not the only one".

It gets lonely out there when you think you're the only one fighting.

I guess its a lonely road, but its worth it. I'll never stop, because as long as I, as long as we are alive, there is hope.

ShineShooter

I met a fighter today, a marine in his 20s. We talked for almost an hour. The rest of the day after work was great, I had met the all to rare - well learned person. Recitatives and friends give me shit for being concerned, but they can't hold my tongue from berating the 'repugnant shit that goes on.'

mipbar

Watch "Century of the Self," a documentary that covers Edward Bernays, cousin to Sigmund Freud who invented society control. He's the guy who made it cool for women to smoke in the 1930's, thus making more money for the cigarette companies. Since then, I'm guessing the tactics have become extremely sophisticated. Look at the "media" top to bottom, entertainment to news, it's all control and agenda. I think society, meaning the bulk of the people, have very little recourse in policy matters, and many fascists want to ensure the masses have zero say in their own governance, the Dulles brothers being among them. Look at the voting records of those that try to do things like prevent voting of American citizens, remove access for everyone to the judicial branch, and prevent social programs. Government, who is supposed to be our voice, hasn't been for decades, and the sheeple are so far beyond 'controlled' by propaganda there really is no hope. Look at the folks trying to get rid of Net Neutrality. We, the proles, have been given a worldwide voice to coordinate and understand what is really happening, and these fuckers are desperately trying to take that away. Look at the voting records of who those people are, and which party they affiliate.

Just like the word "conspiracy" has been conditioned in people to immediately invoke a shudder response, the same goes for any number of topics. You say "zionists" or "jews" and instantly people think racism, yet it's not racist at all to point out facts. I don't hate jewish people in any way whatsoever, yet they do control the media, they do control our government, and they are war criminals against the palestinians. Just fact. Those are good examples of how discussions are so unbelievably easily controlled. One sentence, "Haha, conspiracy nut!" and any rational discussion on virtually every topic is instantly over. So simply controlled.

I watched that documentary a while ago. It was great. I definitely recommend it. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJ3RzGoQC4s

This post would be banned on some other site. ;)

Great post. I think a key ally in this fight is our collective ability to not participate in the charade/narrative being fed to us. We should question anything being fed to us.

pitenius

No it wouldn't.

Not on 31 Oct 2015, or 11 Dec 2015, or even seven hours ago.

OcculusResurrectio

Great post! And I feel the same as you. Not only do people get uncomfortable but they simply aren't interested in important topics or not smart enough to understand. We've become the tl:dr generation addicted to adderal. If it doesnt grasp our attention quickly, we're on to the next bullshit distraction.

Makes me think of the movie God Bless America.

"It's not nice to laugh at someone who's not all there. It's the same type of freak-show distraction that comes along every time a mighty empire starts collapsing. "American Superstarz" is the new colosseum and I won't participate in watching a show where the weak are torn apart every week for our entertainment. I'm done, really, everything is so "cool" now. I just want it all to stop. I mean, nobody talks about anything anymore. They just regurgitate everything they see on TV, or hear on the radio or watch on the web. When was the last time you had a real conversation with someone without somebody texting or looking at a screen or a monitor over your head? You know, a conversation about something that wasn't celebrities, gossip, sports, or pop politics. You know, something important, something personal."

simagule

I find often to overcome peoples resistance you have to carry out the discussion in baby steps. Ask for thought on x here comment on how Y could be improved there.

Undo the years of social indoctrination 1 brick at a time and one day they will come to you and want to discuss these topics. If you push it all onto someone at once they almost go into shock and mentally block it all out.

Last point just as over the years certain types of people are train not to think about these issues. The thinkers are trained how not to introduce these topics (too much detail too fast), which then feeds back into driving people away.

So we need to start the change here if with our self's if you want to change other people.
