I'm old enough to see historical events I witnessed personally being actively and dishonestly re-written.

I'm old enough to have gotten drunk round the campfire with many WW2 veterans. Those guys hated the military and the U.S. government. The media portrayal of WW2 as a war everyone supported is a lie.

The 60's Counter-Culture is a manufactured lie. 99.9% of people in America in the 1960's were NOT smoking weed, protesting the government, having free sex, or growing long hair. They were working jobs, paying mortgages, and going bowling just like it was 1955.

Oh? Like the 60 million Indian Natives in the country that those cowboys bravely defeated so that we could live in peace and harmony from sea to shining sea?

A lot of the ancient ruins of Egypt, Inca, Maya, etc. civilizations are probably a lot older than what we are led to believe.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ancient inhabitants (the real builders) of these ruins may have met their demise around the same time in some sort of cataclysmic event.

not really, its just happened imo. our society revolves around are tech. but do some hold us back the new tech to make money absolutely

Well history was written by the victor of every conflict, so naturally one side is being poorly represented to dissuade their position/behavior. It doesn't always work, but it works well enough for long enough.

ha ha yeah unfortunately (or fortunately) you are living in a construct.

unfortunate for you, fortunate for most others in this sector of the Galaxy, hey, just telling the truth.

Sciency

"History is writen by the victor" is more than a cliché. Rulers have been editing history to make their actions seem justified for a long time. It might be the end of that era though, the internet is really changing the way our collective memory is working.

There's a theory out there that says a chunk of the middle ages never happened, and it's surprisingly plausable as conspiracy theories go. I don't really remember specifics, but it's worth a read if you stumble across the topic.

You dont have to go back that far in history, for example the "Gulf of Tonkin" incident started the Vietnam war, and it is confirmed that it never happened.

Realistically we're just peasants with electricity anyway

I want that on a bumper sticker.

There was a part there where the Neanderthal and Cro magna man lost all their protective fur when every other earth dwelling mammal kept theirs. We just started wearing clothes and doing math. And nothing else slave, move along.
