The Walking Dead (spoilers), hyper-violence and desensitization, fake wounds and corpses, and hope in survival ( conspiracy )

After the recent season premiere (last night), I had some thoughts.

1) Hyper violence: violence has always been a part of the world, its integral to survival really- there are *always* predators. Likewise, violence has *always* been a part of television and movies, since their inception. So, is this just humanity embracing our true behavior, or something else?

2) Desensitization: so, now what? What's the point? Are we being taught to embrace this stuff to weaken or strengthen us? The way I see it, desensitization can be a positive. When the world goes haywire, rather than [standing and gawking](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bystander_effect) we participate.

3) Fake wounds and corpses: [This link is the making of "that" wound from last night's episode.](http://imgur.com/a/RE1m3) This is pretty amazing work. Google "real eye gunshot wound" if you want comparisons. NSFL obviously. There was also a segment during the Talking Dead where Greg Nicotero (make up artist who designed this all, and directed the episode) explains how they created a realistic dummy of that character for another to be running while carrying him. I'll leave it to your imagination what could be done with this.

4) Hope in survival: the creator of the Walking Dead, [Robert Kirkman, has said in interviews that the Walking Dead is ultimately a story about survival.

The desensitization against violence could be argued to have lead to this world we are in now- where people are just fine with the amount of people murdered by cops, killed by executive order drones without due process, blown up or shot to death in real or faux terrorism attacks, etc. but cannot handle words like "nigger" "faggot" or "whore."

Whether or not you believe false flag events currently occur, they are proven to have existed in the past. I considered Greg Nicotero's interview on the Talking Dead a disclosure event, because they showed us part of the process that went into creating this hyper-realistic dummy. Again, use your imagination to what ends this could be used for bad.

Lastly, everyone talks about "the end", the apocalypse, the mass depopulation being secretly planned...as if it means we, collectively, have lost. No. There is always hope. "Life finds a way." When the world falls, we will retake it, stone by stone, brick by brick, we will rebuild it to be better than it was.
