Sad to say, but I think this is the problem-reaction-solution to this press; Federalization of local police forces. They'll try to sell us on it's "openness" and "reforming the racist, prejudicial undertones running rampant in local districts, and creating a system to weed out 'the bad apples' to ensure only the best and most morally sound people are patrolling yours treets". It'll try to sell us on its "ability to uniformly train and equip local forces with little to no expenditure on local budgets". What will sell it is the "Established review board to quickly and independently investigate any instances of misconduct".

Le sigh. Ignorance was bliss.
