I think this is more, because they have no idea how to lead a buisness in Western countrys society is really diffrent here. Many companies just buy the shares and make profit with it, no need to controll them and not because they dont want annyone to know.

Why is it a big deal? How many multinational American-based companies own properties and businesses in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and around the world? It's called capitalism. Should they just keep their money in worthless U.S. Treasuries that will never be repaid? What would you do?

It is deeper than that. I have been dealing with the ramifications of a Chinese owned townhouse cluster that has taken them way too long to finish and even the local police have gotten fed up and are ticketing and impounding the dumptrucks they run when they shouldn't. The people that live here have seen it happen before recently by Chinese developers. They just want to make their money back and gtfo before the shit construction fails. They don't care how they negatively impact the community and I have barely scratched the surface. These townhouses took a year of grading dirt until the lot was 6 feet above ground level. Now instead of mountains in my backyard there are 37 windows that I have to block and they are going to be working on the next parcel down for another year. The point is no one can get them to follow rules due to the vague way they operate. They can only really try and get the local contractors in trouble to get them (the Chinese owners) to follow the laws.

Yeah, there's different types of Chinese. Those types are the ones you don't want around. Mostly from Fujian area. All about most profit with least amount of contribution. Don't believe me? Go find a take out place with people from Fujian and then go get something from a place where they are from Guangzhou. The Fujian place is going to be nasty as fuck with old ingredients.
