History lesson: The State department, hasty to blame something other than their own destabilization efforts in Libya, pointed their finger at Innocence of Muslims for enraging the Muslim world. Official, public statements from the White House requested that the video be removed from Youtube to stop its spread as best they could. They put pressure on Google in addition to Muslim nations and Google folded.

Controlling what information people have access too is one the greatest tools of manipulation our ruling class excersises. It goes from Simple examples like major news outlets only showing or writing about stories that line up with their political views, to China or North Korea blocking large amounts of content on the internet. It's all mind control. They need us to be the good little worker bees that will bring them profit and not take to the streets in outrage, and increasingly that reguires a skewed (censored) viewpoint to accomplish, so they make sure to provide that by any means available to them.
