I think there is some mind control happening with not only peoples ability to think critically, but also the desire to.

Across all demographics I am observing not only hatred and apathy but fear of learning. I remember when it was just hate and apathy, the response to a teacher (in classroom or life) was more "I hate this BS it's useless to me" or "I can't be bothered, it's boring."

Now it's simply "I can't." - With the fear of God in their eyes if you say "I will spend as long you need to teach you how do it, but I won't do it for you."

thank you. I was just reading comments here for context thus far.

/v/conspiracy and /r/conspiracy have been turning into just /r/reasonablediscussion lately. It's like everyone in society has been trained like pavlovian dogs and the conspiracy nuts some how missed the training. They are the only ones that will actually read what you have to say and think about it critically without simply lashing out at it because of some political view.

Conspiracy has become the last place that is safe to just talk about the facts.

/r/C_S_T seems like a pretty good nesting place for us 'nuts'

I hate to post from there, but this is an incredible post. Accurate to a T. I saw this all happening (graduated 2006) but I didn't understand it at the time.

Having friends with people from various generations, I often ask them about the schools. I love to keep up with the world. It's bleak to say the least. I feel disheartened again.
