Are you AUTHORIZED to get high on that pill CITIZEN?

Well, at least the Fourth Amendment won in the end.

But I cannot believe the unAmerican attitude of police all over this country today. They must have known that pulling someone's drug records was an invasion of privacy. Yet they did it anyways and forced the courts to grind these people up before they were told to STOP!

Just sickening. Get to know what sort of person your chief of police of sheriff is. Chances are, they are complete scumbags judging by the officers they are hiring.

"Happy Hunting" Remember that horrible phrase from Hill Street Blues? Thanks, Hollywood, for helping to convince an entire generation of cops to think that they are hunters and the public at large is the prey.

an issue would if someones meds predisposed them to, a certain attitude or response. that would be fairly insidious.

there is definitely a HIPPAA problem here.

HIPAA has exemptions for "law enforcement" purposes. The exemptions were originally designed to allow potentially dangerous psychiatric patients to be reported to law enforcement.

As usual, government thugs find a way to twist the letter of the law to their advantage. It's an ancient problem.

Just one P in HIPAA. You are totally correct and it is just awful that the police felt such impunity and entitlement as to not seek a warrant for this information in the first place.

The USA has a real problem with the current culture in law enforcement.
