I changed the mechanism again and lowered the limit from 25 comment score points to 1, to see how things go.

This 1 comment score point is a sort of introduction point that you can earn quickly if you write a comment on a subverse and just say hi. I hope this works out for everyone :)

I did this because I just realized that I used to lurk on reddit without writing a single comment for quite a while. People are shy and it takes time to get used to the way things work.

Probably a good idea, but if downvote brigades come back I'd recommend breaking out the ban hammer from the admin side with a bit more of a heavy hand :)

No problem :) Notifying abuse department of the ISP that hosts the bot is also a good idea in case things do keep happening and taking servers down :) After all, this is our infrastructure and we need to defend it if reasoning with bot owners doesn't work :)

I like the cut of your jib hahaha.

Without the imaginary point it appears a story was already downvoted by someone.

IntellisaurDinoAlien

I could get used to it pretty quick if it means downvote crews are thwarted though. It also defines the site as slightly different to reddit, things can be different here.

I miss those imaginary points. They're a sign someone is looking at what I post. Without them I lose interest.

Little turn over on the front page today.

I think its a combination of two things;

Users are not given an upvote from themselves anymore, and less people can upvote due to account restrictions.

Tylan

I thought people couldn't downvote based on restrictions. It's both?

edit: I ? when I should have .

Tylan

I tried upvoting submissions (like this one) and comments and they don't show upvoted so something might be broken.
